The next wedding we are looking back at took place at The Signature Room which is on the 95th floor of Chicago’s famed John Hancock Building. With this wedding, what we discussed with our happy couple is not making the wedding “feel” over the top because we had such incredible views of the beautiful city. What we did instead, was use gorgeous blooms, playing with both natural colors and a little pink for bride, and then create the perfect back drop for the wedding.
We wanted to create the feel of a traditional wedding, so we had some elevated pieces on the tables that were more rounded, but in order to make them feel more natural, we added in some hanging amaranths which gave them a little more of a garden feel.
Another way we achieved this look was bringing in a more formal chair, but paired that with a taupe linen and then used a pink napkin to bring in a pop of color. It literally transformed the room.
A final touch was to work in a wedding cake that again was traditional, with a natural feeling. As you can see the cake was a traditional tiered cake, but the design on the cake itself just made it feel a bit more natural.
And it fit in perfectly with the floral and tablescapes!
