We are back at it, creating a RECAP of another wedding we planned! This time, we find ourselves at The Ivy Room, which is a modern, elegant and simple wedding venue located downtown in Chicago. This was a December wedding, so in terms of design, we wanted to go with a “Winter Elegance” theme. Here is what we did!
First off, we wanted to create a designated space for the ceremony to create an “alter”. There were two ways that we did that. The first thing we did was to use our centerpieces that we designed for the dining tables. We were able to put them on beautiful, modern pedestals and accented them with candles and all sorts of other fun winter props. From there, we had hanging over the bride and groom, a gorgeous floral, focal piece that later on, became the piece that hung over the dining room, over the dance floor. Putting finishing touches of candles and props down the aisle, made the entire look come to life!
From there, we created a neutral pallet of colors throughout the dining room, centering the dance floor in the room, with our gorgeous green chandelier, with a combination of winter like centerpieces, candles, and an array of fun winter props!
Another fun touch was a fun cupcake tower with a custom made cutout of the bride and the room! This was a huge hit.
And to our surprise, the bride and groom, got up, center stage and rocked it out with the band during the reception. It was just awesome to see!
Thanks for checking out our RECAP! We hope that you get inspired to help plan your own wedding!
