Wedding Planning RECAP @ The Chicago History Museum

One of the most fun times of the year to plan a wedding is in the winter.  Last year, we were so lucky to work with such a fun couple on their wedding at The Chicago History Museum.  Not only was this an incredible wedding, since the wedding took place on the date, 12-13-14, a unique wedding date, we were on all sorts of news programs from local ABC, CBS, WGN, Canadian CTV News and NBC’s Today Show!

The best part of planning this wedding was incorporating the holiday bling without it being holiday.  The first thing we did with the couple was determine that they wanted to incorporate the colors white, ivory and gold with pops of green.  We also knew that they wanted to have some elevated pieces in the room along with some lower arrangements and they wanted to have two feasting tables, one on each side of the room.

With our friends at Exquitie Designs and Blue Plate Catering, we were able to make this wedding come to life.

We decided the best way to incorporate color was to use white and ivory florals with pops of green and then have the gold come in from the chairs.

In order to make the Feasting Tables work with the designs, we incorporated a gold bling overlay that helped make those tables stand out as a little different from the others.

When you look at both of the tables, floral designs, and color combinations, the room came together nicely.  We also added the golden amber uplighting all the way around the room for some extra warmth and it worked!

The final touch was adding some gold elements to the wedding cake and by doing that, it helped accent the design of the room perfectly!

Thanks again for checking in on this Wedding Planning RECAP!  More to come next week!
