Wedding Planning Tips, What Are The Options of A Plated Dinner at a Wedding

This week we are talking about how to serve your guests at your wedding a plated, sit down dinner. The Tweet came from Wendy Pashman, the owner of The Entertaining Company , and asked me to talk about the importance of giving options to the guests when you decide to serve a plated, sit down dinner. Great topic to talk about Wendy!

You can see my thoughts above in the video, but in short, if you are serving a plated dinner, I think the best way to do this is to offer your guests a choice of entree or you have to offer them a duo plate to accommodate as many palates as possible! Check out my thoughts on this in the video!

I also had to share this photo as this was from a tasting I was at last week at The Entertaining Company. It was so delicious, I could not pass it up to post it! Monk Fish in a Butter Saffron Sauce, Smoked Corn Souffle, Medley of Sauteed Wild Mushrooms!! It was outstanding!!

Wedding Planning Tips, What Makes The Guests Have a Good Time at the Wedding

This question came in from one of our Facebook followers who is also one of my brides! She asked what are some of the essential things that you should do in order to have the guests have a good time at the wedding. Here were my thoughts!

  1. 1. Provide transportation they do not have to worry about getting themselves to and from the hotel. This might be a reach on the budget, but it does help make it more enjoyable for people to not have to worry about going to and from the wedding. If you decide not to provide transport, which is OKAY TOO, make sure you tell the guests how to get around to and from your venue!
  2. 2. If the wedding is in a unique venue, you should still “sprinkle a little wedding” into the evening. What I mean by that if your venue is so unique and so non-hotel or club like, you should make sure that there are familiar wedding elements like toasts, first dance, cake cutting, things like that that will make people be reminded that even though they are in a really unique space, that they are still at a wedding.
  3. 3. If you have great food, a fully stocked bar, and rockin music, they will have a great time no matter what!
